BEON Full Face Motorcycle Helmet DOT Approved Review

I’ve worn modular, full-face, and open-face helmets over the years, and I’ll be honest: most flip-ups feel like compromises. Either they’re noisy, heavy, or the mechanism feels flimsy. After spending real saddle time with the BEON B707, I went in skeptical—but I came away with mixed feelings in a good, realistic way.

This is one of those helmets that surprises you in some areas and frustrates you in others, depending on how and where you ride. What stood out immediately, in my opinion, is the full 180° flip-back chin bar. This isn’t just a partial lift.

Key Features:

  • 180° modular flip-up chin bar converting full-face to open-face
  • High-impact ABS shell with EPS energy-absorbing liner
  • Dual visor system: internal sun visor + outer clear shield
  • Removable and washable cheek pads and liner
  • Integrated ventilation system (always open vents)

When flipped back, it genuinely transforms the helmet into a pilot-style open-face lid. For summer cruising and city riding, that flexibility is genuinely useful. The helmet feels solid in the hand, and once on the head, it doesn’t feel cheap or fragile, which is always my first concern with budget modulars.

Our Verdict

After testing the BEON B707 properly, I see it as a summer-focused, feature-rich modular helmet for riders who value flexibility over refinement. It’s not the quietest or most aerodynamic helmet I’ve worn, but it’s comfortable, well built, and genuinely fun to use. If you want a unique modular helmet that flips fully back and don’t mind some wind noise, this one delivers solid value for the money.

Our Score

Pros

  • Versatility is excellent: In real use, the flip-back chin bar works smoothly and locks securely. One hand is all I ever needed. I never once worried about it dropping down mid-ride.
  • Comfort improves with wear: Out of the box, the padding felt firm, especially around the ears, but after several rides it softened nicely. Now it’s genuinely comfortable for longer trips.
  • Great airflow for hot weather: This helmet shines in summer. It stays cool even at low speeds, and I never experienced fogging—even at stops—which impressed me more than I expected.
  • Strong value for money: For the price, the materials, finish, and features feel fair.

Cons

  • Wind noise is the biggest drawback: Above 35–40 mph, wind noise becomes very noticeable. Even with the chin bar fully closed, the front seal lets in a lot of air. Earplugs help, but sensitive riders will notice.
  • Sizing can be inconsistent: Based on my experience, sizing runs tricky. It fit me well, but I’ve seen enough variance to confidently say you should measure carefully—and possibly size up.
  • Bulky exterior profile: The helmet looks big. That’s the price of the flip-back mechanism. It’s not ridiculous, but you’ll notice it in mirrors and photos.
